Upcoming discussion topics:
Math in Focus- We need to plan for our new math curriculum. For the upcoming week, we will focus on Units 1 and 2. We will meet to brainstorm ideas for implementing our math curriculum with our students, and ways to implement total participation techniques when working with students. Please note any questions and concerns you may have regarding the curriculum. We will meet to map out what each lesson should look like. We will also discuss whether we would like to assign homework this year or not.
RTI- We need to administer our Aimsweb assessments, as well as DRAs, grouping students into RTI group. I will be in contact with our principal to see who is able to help us during RTI time, and to explain lesson plans to staff.
PLC
Please read Chapter One of our Total Participation techniques book. We will meet to discuss our thoughts and ideas for implementing this within our classroom on Monday, September 16th. Remember to make notes of ways that you have been able to implement this into your classroom. Were you successful? What worked? What didn't?
Please sign up to attend a PTO meeting. Remember, we will give an update on what is happening throughout the school, and give input to ideas and suggestions from parents.
Don't forget about communication!
- Remember to stay on top of communication with parents- for concerns but also praise!
- Read your students body language- do they appear tense?
- 4 positive comments for every piece of corrective feedback
- Remind your students that you are there to support and care for them!
